Design and Construction

V-bend geometry. The V-bend configuration allows the axle beam to drop below the trailer frame, providing critical ground clearance for low-profile boat hulls while maintaining proper tongue height for safe towing. Traditional straight axles sit too high for most boat trailers, causing hull interference and launch ramp scraping; the V-bend lowers the axle centerline without reducing load capacity.

Saltwater protection. Each torsion axle is hot-dip galvanized after fabrication, ensuring complete zinc coverage inside and outside the axle tube for maximum saltwater protection. Dacromet is available as an alternative finish for specific coating requirements.

Independent suspension. The torsion design gives each wheel independent travel with rubber elements inside the axle beam. There are no leaf springs, shackles or pivot bushings to service, which reduces maintenance and keeps the trailer stable at highway speeds.

Brake integration. Supplied unbraked (idler) or with hydraulic disc brakes, with USA-standard hub patterns for straightforward parts matching in the North American market.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I select the right capacity — 3500, 5200, 6000 or 7000 lbs?

Match the axle rating to the load the axle will actually carry. For a single axle, take the combined boat and trailer weight (the trailer GVWR) and choose the next rating above it: a typical bass boat rig on a single axle is covered by the 3500 lbs torsion axle, while heavier pontoon or multi-hull boats step up to 5200–7000 lbs. On tandem axles, divide the load between the two positions and confirm the per-axle share with your frame layout. If in doubt, send your GVWR and hull type with your enquiry and the factory will confirm the rating.

2. Is the axle suitable for saltwater use?

Yes. The axle is hot-dip galvanized after fabrication, which deposits zinc on the inside and outside of the tube and on the welded brackets, giving complete coverage for saltwater exposure. Dacromet is available as an alternative finish. Standard marine maintenance — rinsing after saltwater use and regular bearing service — still applies.

3. Can you build the axle to my dimensions?

Yes. Hub face-to-face and outside mounting bracket distance are customized per order. Send your drawing or measurements — hub face width, bracket spacing, spindle and hub pattern, brake requirement — and the factory will produce to your specification. Custom V-bend drop angles are also available.

4. Can I order the axle unbraked, or with brakes?

Both. The range is available as an unbraked idler axle or with hydraulic disc brakes. Specify the brake requirement, hub pattern and whether the trailer is single or tandem when requesting a quote, so the brake line configuration and components are included in the build.

5. What are the MOQ, lead time and pricing for OEM or dealer orders?

Pricing is on request and quoted at OEM wholesale rates for manufacturers, marine dealers and custom builders. MOQ and lead time depend on specification and quantity and are confirmed on the quotation. Contact the factory with your target quantity and delivery schedule for a firm lead time.
